Grocontinental founder Ray Grocott dies aged 89

Turnover at AGRO Merchants Whitchurch, the new name for Grocontinental after it was bought by the Dutch group in 2017, grew by 3.4% last year – but it has raised concerns over Brexit.

Grocontinental increased pre-tax profit by almost 13% to £5.2m just before being snapped up by Dutch firm AGRO Merchants Group.

Grocontinental has opened a £6.5m chilled warehouse and taken delivery of 65 new trucks in response to increasing customer demand.
