Amazon launches Christmas warehouse staff recruitment drive

Distribution Network Operators (DNO) are “extortionate and highly ineffective monopolist gatekeepers”  who are preventing the warehousing sector from investing in energy generation and connecting to the energy grid.

Working practices in the supply chain have been thrust into the limelight by the BBC’s investigative series Panorama. Earlier this week the programme aired an edition highlighting long shifts and tough picking targets at a DC run by internet retailer Amazon.

Amazon is trialling a fully-electric autonomous delivery robot called ‘Scout’ to take packages to their final destination.
