Fowler Welch puts Schmitz Cargobull own-brand fridge unit into service

Schmitz Cargobull is ramping up assembly of its rigid truck bodies in the UK through its service partner network as part of a strategy to cut costs and shorten lead times.

Fleet management firm Zenith has acquired 100 new Schmitz Cargobull S.KO Pace Smart semi-trailers to support its parcel customers in the UK.

Unexpected behaviour by supermarket customers, alongside the closure of its operating base in the Europe, led to a fall in turnover and pre-tax profit at Fowler Welch.
