Transport associations welcome relaxation of drivers’ hour rules

Both the FTA and the RHA have welcomed the launch of the Scottish government’s rail strategy Delivering the Goods.

Government plans to introduce a fulfilment house register in a bid to clamp down on VAT fraud could see road transport operators facing prosecution if they fail to check they are delivering to and from registered fulfilment centres.

Local authorities across the country will be able to charge utility companies as much as £2,500 a day to work on roads in peak hours from next year.
