The DfT is set to reveal its plans for the transport industry in relation to Covid-19, Brexit and the skills shortage at the Freight People’s latest online meeting this month.
Authorised testing facilities (ATFs) could still be left without vehicle test staff as a result of industrial action if talks taking place on Monday 8 June between union Prospect and DVSA chief executive Alastair Peoples do not go well.
The DVSA is encouraging operators to pull forward their annual tests after concerns grew that last year’s exemptions now threaten to overwhelm the regime.
